ROSS MATHEWS NAMED GRAND MARSHAL

FOR 2023 LONG ISLAND PRIDE!


The 33rd annual Long Island Pride Parade and Festival, organized by the LGBT Network, has named American television personality and part-time Long Island residentRoss Mathews as its Grand Marshal. The 2023 Long Island Pride celebration is returning to Huntington on Sunday June 11th with the LI Pride Parade beginning at Gerard and Main Street and marching to Heckscher Park where the day long festival will take place. The 4-hour LI Pride Festival features live entertainment and music, dozens of vendors, food trucks, children and family pavilion, VIP area, beer and wine garden and more.

“What a thrill,” Mathews says.  “As a new Long Island resident, I’ve felt embraced and welcomed to Long Island, where my husband and I have chosen to build our life together.  And now we get to celebrate Pride with our neighbors, friends and family at a time when our community needs to stand together stronger than ever!”

LGBT Network President David Kilmnick said,We are beyond thrilled and excited to have American television personality, Ross Mathews, as our grand marshal for the 2023 Long Island Pride Parade. This is such a pivotal time for the LGBTQ community in our fight for safety and equality and Ross represents the authenticity, visibility, representation and drive that gives people hope and inspiration…and more than a few needed laughs as well. There is no better model for Pride than Ross and we are fortunate to have Ross as our Grand Marshal and ambassador for the LGBT Network as we continue to make our schools and communities safer all year round.

Mathews and his husband, local Long Island educational leader Dr. Wellinthon Garcia-Mathews, split their time between their homes on Long Island, New York City and Palm Springs.  

Ross Mathews can be seen every weekday as co-host on the daily syndicated talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show(currently renewed for season 4) as well as a judge and producer on the critically acclaimed, multiple Emmy Award-winning series RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’sDrag Race All Stars.

Ross is touring theaters across North America with his new stand-up comedy show, Ross Mathews: I Gotchu, Gurl!, inviting everyone to let their hair down in a safe, fun environment where everyone is welcome. 

His many TV appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Chelsea Lately, his own weekly talk show, Hello Ross on E!, E!’s Live From The Red Carpet, Hollywood Today Live and more.
