In 2025, Long Island Pride commemorates a powerful milestone: 35 years of pride, resilience, and community. Our journey began in 1990, when we fought for and won the right to march, taking our case to court and achieving a victory for equality. Since that first march, Pride on Long Island has grown into so much more than a celebration—it has become a bold declaration of visibility, equality, love, and defiant joy.
Pride is about bringing together our community and showing the world who we are. We are your friends, your brothers and sisters, your neighbors, teachers, and parents. We are part of every facet of society, and by standing together, we make sure that visibility becomes a testament to the power of unity and love.
Over the decades, what started as a grassroots movement has blossomed into a region-wide festival, bringing together thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who unite for justice, equality, and community.
This year, we honor our rich history while looking ahead with hope and purpose. On June 8, 2025, the Long Island Pride celebration in Huntington will be a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made—and to continue marching forward with pride.
But remember, Pride isn’t just in June—it’s 365 days a year. Every day is an opportunity to celebrate, support, and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community.
