NYS Comptroller
Thomas P. DiNapoli
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli is a lifelong Long Islander, dedicated public servant, and longtime supporter of the LGBT community and New York LGBT Network. Serving as Grand Marshal for the 36th Annual Long Island Pride Parade, Comptroller DiNapoli has spent decades championing fairness, inclusion, and accountability in government and beyond.
First elected to public office at just 18 years old, he has represented New Yorkers throughout his career, from the Mineola Board of Education to the New York State Assembly, and since 2007 as New York State Comptroller. Comptroller DiNapoli has also been instrumental in supporting the New York LGBT Network, helping secure resources to open Long Island’s first full-time LGBT center more than 30 years ago.

As pro-democracy Upstanders, we engage with voters, advocate on issues, and serve our communities. Through activism, we work tirelessly for inclusivity and equality for all.

Located in the heart of Heckscher Park — the very home of the annual Long Island Pride Festival — The Heckscher Museum of Art has long served as a cultural cornerstone for the Huntington community and beyond. Through its commitment to publicly accessible art, education, and community engagement, the Museum embodies the values of inclusion, connection, and creativity that Pride celebrates.
Founded in 1920 by Anna and August Heckscher, the Museum was envisioned as a center for the community’s cultural, recreational, and social life. More than a century later, that vision continues through a world-class collection spanning the sixteenth through twenty-first centuries and through programs that inspire dialogue, understanding, and diverse perspectives.
At The Heckscher Museum of Art, the belief that “experiencing art broadens our understanding of the past, fosters community connections to our present, and creates diverse possibilities for our future” reflects the spirit of Pride itself — bringing people together, celebrating individuality, and building a more inclusive future for all.
Long Island Pride is honored to celebrate The Heckscher Museum of Art as a Grand Marshal and to recognize its ongoing support of our LGBT community and the shared home we create together each year in Heckscher Park.
