Sarah Ecke

Sarah Ecke is a Special Education High School Math Teacher who has been a beacon of hope for LGBTQ students at Connetquot High School. She has been on the forefront of fighting for visibility, equality and safety for LGBTQ students. In the fall of last year, Sarah stood strong when the district targeted the Pride flag to be removed and continues that fight today to ensure equal representation and visibility for LGBTQ students. Sarah is also the girl’s basketball coach, unified basketball coach, and Gay-Straight Alliance advisor. She is a mommy to amazing 8 year old twins and happily in a committed relationship with a loving and supportive partner. She says teaching and supporting kids is her passion and we couldn’t be prouder to recognize Sarah as a 2023 Long Island Pride Grand Marshal!
