We are proud to announce that the Free Mom Hugs New York Chapter will be one of the Grand Marshals of the 35th Anniversary Long Island Pride Parade, taking place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Huntington, NY!
This special milestone year for Long Island Pride calls for leaders who embody the spirit of love, resilience, and community. Free Mom Hugs fits that spirit perfectly. With their heartfelt mission to empower the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, they have become a beloved force of support and visibility across the nation and beyond.
Founded on the belief that showing up with love can change lives, Free Mom Hugs embraces people of all faiths, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. Their message is simple but powerful: unconditional love and affirmation. With active chapters in all 50 states—and even a new chapter in Japan—Free Mom Hugs continues to grow as a movement built on compassion and connection.
Lisa Schlossberg, leader of the New York State Chapter, shared how her journey with the group began:
“I was always an ally, but attending my first event with Free Mom Hugs in 2021 changed everything. As the very proud mom of a trans child, it was wonderful to be with other people who felt like I do.”
As we celebrate 35 years of Pride on Long Island, we are honored to recognize Free Mom Hugs New York as one of the outstanding grand marshals leading this year’s parade. Their presence is a reminder of how everyday love and support can create extraordinary change.
